After purchasing a DNA testing kit, you have up to 90 days to use your kit and send your samples back to the laboratory for testing. If the samples are not received and testing is not initiated within 90 days of the purchase date, your account will be listed as inactive. A $75.00 reactivation fee will apply to reactivate your account once it has become inactive. The choice to reactivate an account is the sole decision of Bio-Gene DNA Testing (hereafter Bio-Gene) and is final. If you decide not to proceed with testing, a refund may be requested within 7 calendar days from the date of purchase in accordance to the refund policies set out below.

Refund policy for home DNA test kits

If the DNA test is canceled before the kit has been shipped out, a refund may be given, less an administration fee of $75.00 for non-chain of custody paternity and/or maternity tests, and $125.00 for all other DNA tests. If the DNA testing services are canceled after the testing kits have been shipped, as verified by the generation of a tracking number for the shipment, a refund may be applied to the unused kit, less a fee of $100.00 for paternity and $150.00 for all other tests, plus the cost of shipping. All requests for a refund must be applied for and written request received within 7 calendar days of the initial order. There are NO REFUNDS for Make Your Own Kit orders as this is a digital download that cannot be returned.

Refund policy for legal DNA tests

If the DNA test is canceled before the kit has been shipped out, a refund can be given, less an administration fee of $150.00. The cost of the DNA testing services are non-refundable once the testing kit(s) have been shipped as testing is considered to have begun. A kit is considered shipped when a tracking number or other proof of postage is generated. All requests for refund must be made in writing within 7 calendar days of the initial order.

Refund policy for prenatal test kits

Prenatal DNA test kits are not refundable under any condition once they have been shipped to the address given at the time of order as testing is considered to have begun and the medical supplies cannot be reused. There is a $175.00 non-refundable administrative fee for any cancelled Prenatal DNA Test Order that is cancelled prior to shipping. A DNA test kit is considered shipped when a tracking number or other proof of postage is generated. All requests for a refund must be made in writing within 7 calendar days of the initial order.

A kit is considered shipped when a tracking number or other proof of postage is generated. No refunds will be issued until the testing kit is returned to Bio-Gene in a new and unused condition. After 7 calendar days, the entire cost of the test is non-refundable. The cost of return shipping and verification of receipt of the returned kit is solely the responsibility of the ordering party. Once the collected DNA samples have been mailed to Bio-Gene DNA, the testing process is considered as having begun, and the full cost of the test is absolutely non-refundable.

There are no refunds for those who choose to use or make their own kits under any condition. The sample submission form is a digital download, and just as with any digital download, there is no way to return the product, and therefore cannot be returned. All refund requests must be in writing and provided with the DNA test kit.

Purchasing any DNA test or service, either online or by telephone, through Bio-Gene DNA Testing, LLC or it’s agents indicates that the purchaser agrees that they have read and consented to the above refund policy.
