Our Ancestral DNA test examines the global spectrum of your genetic inheritance.
Ancestral origin tests based on surnames, which are very common via the internet, have a limited value since many people’s names have changed and evolved over the centuries, and there may be many disparate groups with similar surnames. Your genetic and biological roots, when performed with an accurate and specific ancestry DNA test may surprise you.
We compare your personal DNA profile against hundreds of global populations and fourteen anthropological regions whose collective genetic information is known and scientifically validated. Our lab then measures the likelihood that your genetic information is linked with each of those populations and regions. DNA genealogy has never been so easy to understand!
How does the Ancestry DNA test work?
We perform DNA analysis on your specific profile which indicates where your ancestors came from over the last 700+ years. Bio-Gene DNA’s testing experts take advantage of both the father’s and the mother’s DNA to provide a clinically precise answer to your ancestral lineage.
Population matches
Trained DNA technicians measure your DNA individually against every population in an exclusive database, and mark how strongly your profile matched against each. On the population match graph, each population has a shape that tells you which anthropological region that population belongs to, as well as a percentage to indicate how strong a match you had with it. In this set of calculations, you will also see indicated three special anthropological regions, which are actually groups of dispersed populations. A dispersed population is one that has migrated from a native land to somewhere else on the globe.
Native region matches
Running a completely new set of calculations, and not using any of our “dispersed population” regions, our testing lab then determines which anthropological native regions you have the strongest links.
The results are available in about 21 days once we have the samples in our lab.
